In a sixty-five-character column that comes to roughly seven lines — a good fit for an intro paragraph, an article standfirst, or the body of a medium card. Five sentences, 661 characters.
If you are filling a layout to find where it breaks, a hundred words is usually the point at which a single block starts behaving like real copy. It wraps several times, so line height and measure begin to show, but it is still short enough that everything underneath stays on screen while you look at it.
